Knowing Myself (Taster Course)
To get the most out of it, we recommend watching it together.
We are offering a limited number of spots to preview the content and would be so grateful for your feedback.
This taster course has been created to empower a young audience with knowledge on different ways to focus and pay attention, our natural need for movement, how to honour our own needs and our own ways of doing things, as well as the concept of neurodiversity and the idea that the most typical approach doesn’t mean the best approach.
It will take 30-45 mins and is divided into video segments which you can watch at your own pace.
Monique Botha is a Leverhulme Research Fellow at Durham University, leading Fragile Knowledge, a funded project examining dehumanisation and interpretation bias in autism research. Their work as a community psychologist centres participatory, “Nothing About Us Without Us” approaches to neurodivergence, equality and mental health, with a strong focus on social and cultural impact.
Sinéad McNally is an Associate Professor in Early Childhood Education (Psychology) at the Dublin City University Institute of Education and Principal Investigator of the interdisciplinary Autism-Friendly Schools Research Project, funded by Research Ireland. She is Editor-in-Chief of Active Learning in Higher Education and is recognised for her highly impactful research on inclusive education across the lifespan, with a special focus on children’s early play and literacy experiences.
